From January to April 2024, the total output of lithium batteries in China exceeded 282GWh

On the 17th, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released the operating conditions of the national lithium-ion battery industry from January to April 2024 on its official website. Data shows that from January to April 2024, China's lithium-ion battery (hereinafter referred to as "lithium battery") industry maintained a growth trend. According to the information of the lithium battery industry standard announcement companies and the calculation of the industry association, the total output of lithium batteries in the country exceeded 282GWh from January to April, a year-on-year increase of 17.5%.
In the battery part, the national energy storage lithium battery output exceeded 48GWh from January to April. The installed capacity of power lithium batteries for new energy vehicles is about 120.4GWh.
In the first-stage material part, from January to April, the national output of positive electrode materials, negative electrode materials, diaphragms, and electrolytes reached 735,000 tons, 535,000 tons, 4.9 billion square meters, and 320,000 tons, respectively, with year-on-year growth rates of more than 15%.
In the secondary material segment, the national production of lithium carbonate and lithium hydroxide was 171,000 tons and 104,000 tons from January to April. The average prices of battery-grade lithium carbonate and lithium hydroxide (micro powder grade) were 104,000 yuan/ton and 98,000 yuan/ton respectively.
